American Academy of Audiology: The world’s largest professional organization of, by, and for audiologists with active membership of more than 12,000. Promotes quality hearing care services through professional development, education, research, and increased public awareness of hearing and balance disorders.
American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery: Association of Otolaryngologists
American Speech–Language–Hearing Association: Association of audiologists, and speech-language pathologists; provides certifications attesting to the competence of practitioners.
American Tinnitus Association: Working to improve the tinnitus patient experience through compassion, education, empowerment, and advocacy. and funding research to find a cure.
International Hearing Society: A membership association that represents hearing health care professionals worldwide. IHS members are engaged in the practice of testing human hearing and selecting, fitting and dispensing hearing instruments and counseling patients.
National Association of the Deaf: Civil rights organization of, by and for deaf and hard of hearing individuals. A good source for information on legislation mandating accommodations and access for deaf and hard of hearing people.
National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD): Carries out biomedical and behavioral research.
